Marriage Retreat

  • N6120 Sawyer Lake Road White Lake, WI, 54491 (map)

Are you looking for an opportunity to invest in your marriage? The Marriage Retreat is designed for that purpose. You will experience great teaching, be able to engage in small group discussions with others in a similar life stage, enjoy a date night, relax, laugh, make new memories, and spend time away without distractions. In addition to the teaching, you will be able to enjoy the Northwoods by riding a horse, zip lining, taking a walk, playing a game or enjoying fellowship with other married couples.

Retreat Speakers: Kit and Drew Coons

Kit and Drew Coons met in 1980 while living in Africa as Christian missionaries. “Kit was living in a mud house with a metal roof and no running water or electricity,” Drew recalls. “She is as tough as a hickory nut.” In Africa, Kit taught in a teacher’s college while Drew worked to provide clean water to nineteen cities and towns.

As humorous speakers specializing in biblical relationships, they have taught in every part of the US and in thirty-nine other countries. For two years, the Coonses lived and taught in New Zealand and Australia. They are keen cultural observers and incorporate their many adventures into their writing and speaking. The Coonses are unique in that they speak and write as a team.

The Coonses are the authors of seven wholesome novels, including the mystery-destination Challenge Series. They have been published in thirteen periodicals with about two million readers. Their highly rated biblical book Better Together deals with the difficult issue of why God allows suffering, and how to deal with tragedy.

Drew received honors degrees in engineering from both Auburn and Georgia Tech. He worked on the Delta Rocket program and designed critical components for the Space Shuttle. Later he served as a researcher for BASF Corporation and received twenty-three US and several international patents.

Kit has an honors degree in education from the University of Minnesota. She is a gifted teacher and blogger with a sensitive heart and undaunted spirit, regardless of the circumstances.

Retreat Hosts - Trevor & Tanya Kravick

Trevor and Tanya married in 2001 and live with a sense of thankfulness and
enthusiasm. As Field Directors for the state of Wisconsin with FamilyLife,
they help others identify where God is inviting them to join Him and support
them in doing so - creating environments for gospel movements to thrive.
They are parents to four of the most amazing people they've ever known and
