INTERNSHIPS

The Internship Program trains young men and women to grow in spiritual maturity, godly character, and competent leadership, while immersing them in the thriving camp ministries of Silver Birch Ranch. Interns gain valuable skills and work experience as they learn to serve others for the sake of Jesus.

Program Details

  • Internships last 12 months, from mid-August to mid-August. 

  • Interns generally follow the Nicolet Bible Institute student schedule for holidays and breaks.

  • Lodging is provided in shared, dorm-style rooms on the grounds. Meals are provided in the Dining Hall.

  • During the school year, the internships are typically full-time (32-40 hrs/week), though some are part-time (16-20 hrs/week). Internships that involve working in more than one area are allowed in some instances.

  • During the school year, interns are provided a stipend of $320/month (full-time) to cover incidental expenses.

  • During the summer, interns join the SBR Summer Staff Team, where they will have leadership opportunities.

  • During the summer, interns will receive the Summer Staff pay of $210/week, which is paid as a lump sum at the end of the summer.

  • Interns must be high school graduates with at least an additional 1-2 years of education, military, or work experience. Internships are also available for college graduates and graduate student

August 22, 2024 - Intern program begins
August 14, 2025 - Internship ends    

All interns are provided a modest stipend of $320 (pre-tax) per month to cover incidental expenses like gas, insurance, and leisure activities. Lodging is provided in shared dorm-style rooms on grounds. Meals are provided in the Dining Hall.  During the summer months, Interns are assigned Summer Staff. While on Summer Staff, the intern stipend will be removed and they will receive Summer Staff pay (currently $210 per week, paid as a lump sum at the end of the summer).  In addition, they will be assigned Summer Staff housing.


Internship Positions

Canteen (Part-Time)

  • Retail sales and management of the Canteen, including the Coffee Bar and Trading Post

Housekeeping

  • Cleaning and upkeep of buildings, meeting rooms, and common areas; taking care of campers’ practical needs; supervising cabin cleaning

Kitchen

  • Food preparation, menu planning, kitchen management, and dish room operations

Marketing/Media-Video

  • PR and promotions activities, create social media content, and help compose publicity and marketing materials

  • Creating camp videos, and miscellaneous graphic design work

Media-Sound

  • Duties consist of running sound for retreats and camps and maintaining SBR’s meeting rooms.

Maintenance

  • Building maintenance and repairs, grounds keeping, and construction projects

Program - Guest Services

  • Camp and retreat planning; hospitality, organization, scheduling, and hosting groups

Stables

  • Horse and farm animal care, stable and barn maintenance, haying, trail rides, and riding lessons

 Northwoods Retreat

  • Assist in overall operations at a smaller retreat setting; hosting and programming, guest services, maintenance, tech, etc.
